France, an honored guest of the 1st Festival “VOICES”, will be presented by its best films of the last year that are:

“VOICES” Festival thanks the Embassy of France in Russia and personally Christine Lomon, attaché on cinema and mass media communications for cooperation.

French “New Wave” – 50 years old!
French new wave (in French Nouvelle Vague) is a tendency in the French cinematography of the end 1950-s and 1960-s. The young film directors who earlier had an experience of being a film critic and a journalist became representatives of the new wave.
“Deux de la Vague” (France, 2009, 91’), film director Emmanuel Laurent. Documentary film about relationship of Jan-Luk Godar and Fransua Truffo.

Dedicated to the Russian studio “Albatross” in France
Producing company “Albatross” was founded by Alexander Kamenka in 1922 on the basis of the bought-out from brothers Pate studio in Montreuril. Co-founders and leading cinematographers of this studio were Russian stars of the silent films emigrated to France; film director Alexander Volkov, actors Ivan Mozzhukhin, Natalia Lisenko…

SPECIAL PROJECTS

I love you, Vologda land!
A competition of amateur short films (maximum 5 minutes) in which any resident of Vologda city or Vologda oblast or any other place in the planet makes a declaration of love to Vologda land. The competition is supported by KODAK.

Round tables and master-classes
Famous masters can share their experience; film directors, producers and journalists will discuss the topics interested to them and to spectators at the round tables.

Photo-exhibition Storyboard
A photo-exhibition by American photographer Roger Sallok. World Premiere.

Concerts in the Kremlin square
Young famous music groups including a Saint-Petersburg group Bill’s Band will give concerts for Vologda residents and guests of the festival

Echo of VOICES Festival in “Pioneer” cinema in Moscow
During July 9-11 the films winners of VOICES Festival and films selected from out-of-competition program will be presented in “Pioneer” cinema
