Some dates

1147, August - foundation of Vologda-city. Main population was Finno-Ugric tribes and hunters and traders from Novgorod.

1368 - Dmitriy Donskoy occupied Vologda and forced Novgorod to divide its authority with a Moscow. Son of Dmitriy - Vasiliy - transmitted this dominion to the only authority of Moscow.

1371 Spaso-Prilitskiy monastery was built not far from Vologda

Ñïàñî-ïðèëóöêèé ìîíàñòûðü. Ôîòî Ó.Áðàìôèëüäà

1397 - St. Kirill founded the Kirillo-Belozerskiy monastery

1398 - St. Ferapont founded the Monastery of the Nativity of the Virgin.

1565 - building of Vologda Kremlin
