GENERAL INFORMATION

The first festival was held in Vologda in 1991. Its authors were the Vologda Drama Theatre and the Ministry of Culture of Russia.

Productions are performed in the open air at the Vologda Kremlin's monuments. The theatre festival is a significant event in the cultural life of Vologda and Russia.

The main Prize is a memorial sign - the Mask. In 2003 the festival became International.
