Poetess Olga Fokina was given All-Russian Literary Award “Ladoga”
This award was instituted 15 years ago for the works of striking civil direction
and vividness in forms close to the folk and northern Russian folklore. This
year poetess Olga Fokina has been named the best among Russian poets for her
book of verse “Pendulum”.
A solemn prize ceremony of the literary award in the sphere of poetry named
after Alexander Prokofiev “Ladoga” took place in the exhibition hall “Smolny”
(St. Petersburg) on December 2.
Olga Fokina shared her impressions with us: “Of course, it is a very pleasant,
but absolutely unexpected event for me. The latest book of verse “Pendulum” was
published several months ago and I didn’t even suppose that the Union of Russian
Writers nominated it for this award”.
Olga Fokina continues creating her new works. As the poetess herself says, she
writes at least several lines almost every day.
